Goblin Drop was an entry to OrcaJam 2019 and prototype of Peglin.

The game is played in a web browser, and can be found here.

Differences from Peglin

Aside from the obvious lack of content, Goblin Drop has several differences from the main game, listed below.

  • Aiming is vastly different
  • The artwork is far more basic
  • There is no music or sound effects
  • All orbs (and projectiles) visually resemble the Infernorb
    • Occasionally, a projectile resembling that of the Icircle is thrown
  • Bombs are thrown instantly rather than at the end of the turn
  • The physics aren't as refined
  • Hit detection is rather wonky, and each orb's hitbox is 50 - 100% bigger than their sprites
  • Pegs simply disappear when hit, rather than having a subtle animation
    • In addition, pegs have somewhat randomized sizes instead of being consistently the same size
  • Critical and Refresh pegs are instead "potions", but otherwise function identically.
    • There is only 1 of each present at a time (similar to early versions of Peglin, and Cruciball 3 & 5)
  • The game has several static battles rather than random encounters
    • In addition, each battle is set in what appears to be an early version of the Castle
  • Enemies have a very basic health bar, and resemble the Knight and Tall Knight
